FIAT Punto 1.2 16v 2003 Dynamid

Hi so a few months ago I got my clutch replaces as it was gone. I have driven around 4,000 miles since the new clutch and worn it incorrectly, however, I seem to sometimes have trouble getting it into gear 1 and maybe 2 at times.

I would like to know if this is a usual occurrence on Fiats and if I can do anything to ease the gear changes? Oil change? I usually double clutch when going into first gear near a stop.

Also car hasn't been picking up speed much recently just feels a bit sluggish, anything I can do about that? Going to be changing the engine oil and filter

Any help is appreciated. Thank you :)

Fresh Gearbox Fluid Probably WONT help unless yours is empty
If the clutch isn't disengaging properly - or its dragging due to a new fault then selecting new gears is harder as the 2 speeds (engine and road speed) are harder to match (syncromesh can only do so much)

If they replaced JUST the clutch release (bad practice) then its possible clutch is duff
If they replaced it all - it may be looking like a gearbox issue

Changing engine oil is NEVER a bad thing - get it done, but dowt this will cure any power issues
Unless its like tar coming out....

If its easy to select the gears without - then iirc (flisko will confirm) Then it sounds like syncro's wearing out, they get a battering as most people ram first and second alot when slowing down.... - i just thrash brakes instead as there 10x easier to change and cheaper on instance vs long term
