can`t buy them on their own, have to buy front to rear fuel pipe( daft i know) no longer available, when i asked 2 yrs back, there is a thread on this subject, heard of brass ones had been made, how true? on ebay sometimes i was told,
Nowthen, i have had alot of tank connection problems also with my 4x4. When i replaced the tank just over a year ago i found that the filler neck was cracked and also the breather pipes so i had to make new ones of both. I got a series of bends for the filler neck off a company on ebay and used a siecento filler top as it fits in the small gap that the pandas have between the body and the arch. I also used the breather pipes off this car as they fitted using small jubilee clips to tighten on.
As far as plastic solid pipe bends go you could try going to your local builders mercheant and buying some push fit water pipe connectors and joining them to the normal pipes with jubilee clips. You may have to use some fuel resistant sealer for the joint in the tank just to be sure you get no leaks. I used a product called anchor resin which is a poxy two part resin. When mixed it is resistant to almost anything.
When dealing with old cars you have to think on your feet and bodge where possible i'm afraid. Hope this helps
Are we not helpful in this section?? I see nothing but help being offered on a daily basis. Have you not thought that no one has the part you need? That could be a reason. Couple that with stig's reply, which I see did not receive a thankyou, most may have thought you had solved it.
Andy has now given good advise. No one is obliged to help and the comment about the lack of help can be read as sarcastic which for me would not get a helpful reply.
