Hiya everyone,
The fuel gauge needle on my Ducato 230, 2.8idtd does not return to zero with ignition off. Position of needle is correct to whatever volume of fuel is in the tank when ignition is on. Gauge appears to be working correctly as low fuel warning comes on when below the quarter mark.
Have cleaned module and connectors on top of sender.
Photos attached - 1st photo shows position of needle with ignition off. It is also the position of needle with plug on sender disconnected.
2nd photo shows needle with ignition on and plug on sender disconnected.

Model
Ducato 230 2.8idtd
Year
1999

Welcome to the forum.

The x230 has an electronic module interposed between the sender unit, and gauge. See this MHO Forum thread, for more details. An internet search may return further hits.

The damper module checked out ok. Removed fuel gauge from binnacle and disconnected. Same result with needle not going to zero. So assume gauge itself is faulty.
