hi as i was having problems as described in a lost post about a week ago, i have got a fuel filter to change, checked timing as adviced, all fine.

car is fine if i pull away softly but if i pull hard the power is minor.
was gonna change the fuel filter but looking in the haynes manual, it says to de-pressurise the fuel system but does not give a good description on how to.

could anyone advice????

oh and when putting back together do i need to pressurise it manual somehow or will it do that itself when starting. ????

aye just open the fuel cap out (should hear a hissing sound). whole point of doing this is to minimise fuel lost.

Very easy job :). Make sure you fit the fuel filter with the arrow point towards the front the car.

ok thanks.

didnt think it would be that simple.

am i gonna have a lot of petol come out the pipe when i take the filter off???

i've got a 1.1mpi seicento from 2006,but don't find the fuel filter. it isn't on the same place as a sporting 98 model

yes you are correct it isnt in the same place, its located within the whole fuel system.

Unless the rest of fuel system is faulty there is no reason to change it.

If you wish to change the fuel filter, the whole lot has to come off the car.

Very poor design idea from fiat

Jsut to expand, you have to take the pump out. The filter is on there.

Mines done 84K and is 2001, and the filters never been done. It's not a standard service item on the mpi.

so it isn't nessesary to change it?
because i've got 70K now in 3year (new car).
I have put some injector cleaner in the fueltank, so normaly that's ok?
