Hi guys.

Bad news - driving about in my cinq when tired lead me to mount a curb and destroy an alloy or two, as well as bursting both tyres on my left hand side.

Engine went dead and much fun ensued to get the car moved away from yellow lines in a relatively central location in London.

anyway, my guess is the fuel cutoff has been triggered, but where EXACTLY is the reset switch?

I read it's under the dash - does this mean I have to completely disassemble the dash or can I get to it from, underneath, say.

What needs to be dismantled in order to reach this crucial switch?
Oh, and who wants to place bets on what has been broken?

Tracking gone? Shock absorbers buggered?
Thanks in advance guys!

just get your hand right under the centre of the centre console. Reach behind the carpet and you should feel a rubber switch. Push that down :)

Cheers!

So is it UNDER the carpet then?
under the brassy shaft of the right hand drive clutch rod? as in under where the radio goes, go deep and lift the carpet then rummage?

i don't have to take the mile-ometer etc off, do i? (im just getting sick of removing it).

can i get away with not disassembling anything?
i only ask as once im there i need to get the little (lame) beast purring as failure is not an option!

cheers guys!

can get to it without dismantling anything. Just reach toward the centre front of the car and pull back the carpet. can't miss it. It does require bending the arm in ways that God did not intend though!lol

Dis one?

perfect, thanks, i know exactly where that is!

the number of times i had to change that $%*& clutch cable!!

clutch replaced, 'unbreakable' clutch cable fitted.

DAVE:

what do you mean????
can the alloy be repaired?? one alloy is just bent where the kurb hit.. can it be fixed??

wooooot im glad im not the only one who couldnt find the fuel cutoff switch! my battery went dead in a busy high street and i had to be towed home! i was embarrased but we all couldnt find the fuel cut off swtich including the AA man! lol so she is at the fiat hospital! hopefully i will get her back on monday!

Heh found the switch thank god, pressed it down, turned the key and my little monster purred back into life.. it definitely is there but if your battery is flat then there is nothing saving you... apart from a jump-start or pushing the thing and ramming it into second ofcourse.. Cinqs don't take much of a push to get them going this way.. ;)
