Hello peeps :)

I've heard that there is a remote fuel cut out button under the dash somewhere, is this true?

I cant find it!

Acctually, this made me laff a bit...

It says this on the reverse side of your sun visor on the drivers side ....

QUOTE"
When involved in an accident, please turn off the fuel via the remote cut off switch, PLEASE CONSOLT THE OWNERS MANUAL!

YEAH RIGHT.... 30mph into a wall/another car... OH, i'll just get my owners manual a sec!! LOL!!!

There is an inertia switch, this cuts the fuel supply in the event of an impact, and thats somewhere round that area, are yu sure yu dont mean that?

It is just that "inertia switch" it works by it self no need to turn it off(no manual way to do it):D

Wouldn´t it be pointless having to manually turn it off!! you crash and then have to cut out the fuel, why not turn off the egnition!! it´s easier:D

On this bodyguard program on TV they showed that they disconnected it because they might face hard hits and still want to run, was really interesting :)

Basically it works on a large impulse (change in momentum) - if your car faces one, it cuts off fuel to prevent your car from continuing to run :)

Naahh... not pointless...

The reason i want to know about this is that if someone breaks into my car and tries to drive it away, it wont start unless they know where this switch is.

This is why i want to know :)

Im sue it says in the owner manual that it is a manual switch that you can turn on and off.

Some one with a Renault has one of these buttons under the gas peddle.

In the maual, it says that the switch is under the radio in the centre of the dash, but i couldnt see it.

Any more ideas??

Why not just install one,it´s a simple job and no one will know where you install it. You can just pull out the fuel pump relay has a last resort(ex. long leave somewhere)or wire a switch to disable it, i had a circuit somewhere to do that but i don´t have the wiring diagrams for fiats(hint hint:rolleyes: ) or i could tell you how to wire it. Maybe someone else has already done it.:D

Cool idea :)

I will definatly look into this - no one's gonna steal my SpongeBobSquareCar!

I'm gettin my car back on Friday Woo-Hoo! minus the door locks!
