Fred's just failed his MOT. I've put a post in the for sale section.

Mechanically he's brilliant. Never let me down.

Fantastic engine with only 51k on the clock. New clutch.

Is he of any use to anybody for parts in exchange for a few beer tokens?
Such a shame to scrap him.

He's still got tax til the end of the month and MOT til 17th September so he can be legally driven away.

:(

I'm absolutely gutted. I knew he would fail on some rot but it's just too
much for me to sort. I got other cars which also need loads of welding.

Sad day :( Just hope someone can make use of him for bits or anybody
who's looking for a project cos he's lovely and wouldn't want to see him
scrapped :(

I'm getting worried, as first KarlHunt666's '86 Uno got wrecked and now 1988 Freddy has failed the MOT big time. Mk1 Uno's seem to be disappearing! I still have my 1986 Uno 45S and am begining to think it's living on borrowed time. And by the looks of it, it's still the oldest Uno on these message boards.

Structurally it has no rust, but I think I am going to invest in a giant barrel of Waxoyl to fill every single nook and cranny to stop it from rusting.....

You shouldn't have to worry too much with a Cinq, as I think all the panels are galvanised from the factory. That goes a very long way to prevent rusting, and Fiat have used this process on most of their cars from about the mid nineties onwards. However, there would be no harm in giving all the crucial areas a good coating of Waxoyl just to be on the safe side.

I don't know how my Uno has resisted rusting so well, but I'm certainly not complaining!
