lol - in the black one, I hit the limiter in 5th at an indicated 7000 revs or so - speedo was so far off the top it was resting on the plastic surround underneath!

Bear in mind the 1242 is rev limited to 6500 in the Puntos though, and a Cinq/Sei ecu won't cut until something like 6800-7000.

Yep.

The harmonic balancer yure thinking of is the 1242cc crank pulley (alternator drive)..Its about 2x the weight of the pulley from the 1108cc

Yep, quite right! Hope I didn't sound flippant in a previous response - wasn't it something to do with A series engines in that one?

No problem, it was in a previous discussion about these engines as I have chosen to play about with the engine in 1108ish capacity.

I was of the opinion that if Fiat were fitting a damper then there must be some serious vibration issues at higher revs. As I was looking for power I knew higher revs would be needed so have stuck with 1108.
