Technical fog lights

Does any body know how hard it is to wire fog lights up??? I have a 55s but gettin new bumper and fog lights just wondered how difficult it is MANY THANKS

Wiring fog lights is easy, I presume you already have a foglight switch, the harder option would be to remove the dash and locate the back of the switch, then its a case of just wiring it to that, (earth, live, source) the easier option would be to wire up another switch, I have one for my neons in the change compartment to the right of the steering wheel, (the part you disconnect to find the fusebox) just cut a hole in that, and its easier to get behind it to wire it, plus its right next to the rubber part of the bulkhead to get the wires thru. If you want me to explain in more details, let me know.

Why do you need fogs? It is only sufficiently foggy enough in the UK about once every 2 years...!

you need a relay if you are installing fogs,

Definitely get a relay. Foglights use about 50-60W each; thats a total drain of over 100W for a pair. On a 12V supply you're looking at 8 to 10 amps of current, which will rapidly burn out most ordinary switches.

To pass the MOT you either need an illuminated switch or an indicator lamp on the dash.

this only applies to rear foglight
