Miscellaneous flush out dead /clogged screenwash pump /tank ( Focus TDCi)

PUMP.

I found the pump to be dead..,
so nothing ventured,

put 12 Volts across the 2 x terminals.. Nothing

sprayed release oil into the pump chambers:idea:

left to soak , then eased off the motor from the pump ( plastic shroud around cable connector clips on)
once this was removed - it's a simple motor with a drive flat on the shaft,
that locates with the pump impeller.

motor ran well on 12V supply, ( car battery)
so reassembled - connected to cars loom,

and ran briefly..,
then stopped dead, :bang:

obviously still tight..so more lube and manipulating, and it then pumped fluid reliably

then started to reassemble into cars inner wing,
"hanging on hook" was fiddly, as it needed to coincide with aligning the "filler neck tube" with the upper grommet of the tank Ahhhh


once convinced it was together I offered the mounting bolts finger tight, reconnected the last of the hose unions ( thankfully the front / rear hoses cannot be joined wrongly ; male to male , F to F)

re-threaded the top supply hose under bonnets heat blanket, attached to nozzle stub, and tested.. all worked fine so tucked heat blanket back into it's mount points, and added more screen was..,

LEAK TIGHT..:woot:

not only that but passed the MOT a few days later:slayer:

took 2 to 3 hours of tinkering ( in January), but could've saved @ £100 in garage fees:worship:

the FOCUS was a 58 plate - so Mk 2..??mk 1 is in other wing.
