Technical Flickering Red Light !

Hi, can anyone please help.
I have an 02 Fiat Punto Active 1.2, whilst driving - every so often a small red light flickers on then off, does anyone know what this is ?? It is just below the rev counter. I cant really describe what it looks like as it occurs randomly and disappears that fast that i only really see it out of the corner of my eye. It doesnt seem to affect the performance but worries me that it isnt normal.

Hi,

Can you not see which light it is or which area so that you can narrow it down. If it is a 2002 model, you could ask your Fiat garage to look at it on the fault computer to see if it is logged. It should be a warranty job.

No it doesnt have ABS. I will probably take it in and let them have a look, but i did mention it at a recent service and they said there was nothing wrong and i couldnt recreate the problem (You have to drive around for a while and it seems to happen randomly)

Hi,

Could it be the power steering light. We had this on our Punto and it just flashed now and again. I heard there is a manufacturing fault on some of the electric steering motors.

My wife kept complaining about the light, but I didn't see it until a few weeks later. The steering motor was changed 3 times before we finally got it sorted.
