General Flat battery

Evening all, my son's 52 reg Punto has let us down a few times over the last few ays. The battery keeps going flat,i.e, completely dead. The battery is only a year old, and nothing seems to be staying on when the car is left. It's been jump started and given a few good runs,but it still keeps going flat. Any ideas?

As said above, is the red battery charge light on once the car is started and disconnected from slave battery? check to make sure this light is on before you turn key to start as bulb may have been removed,If it is on when engine is running then as said by Ninja59. Have you got a after market stereo fitted if so make sure it turns off when you turn off the ignition as it could be draining battery.

Thanks for the replies. The ignition light goes out when the car is started. It has the standard fit stereo, and everything seems to go out when the ignition is turned off. The airbag warning light is on when the car is driven,could this be connected?
