Ok Guys! first post as in my first week of Stilo ownership. I cant believe I bought another Fiat!!!

I've bought my fascia adaptor and my kenwood mp3 cd tuner. Does anyone know if i need a wiring adaptor to fit this in place of the standard tape player?? Before i pull out the old one and have a gaping hole for a week till I get to Halfords!!

Cant seem to get this info on any dealers website

Many thanks in advance

Malcy

Welcome to the mad house!

As far as I know there isn't any wiring adaptors for the Stilo however you may need to do a little wiring modification to get things working depending on the config of the Kenwood wiring loom.

See here for a similar thread with a bit more info - it relates to installing a Sony head unit but the principles will be the same.

Thanks guys

Scorg, yes i see the red and yellow cables are changable, these are the ones aren't they? How do I know if i need to swap them before I fit it, Will i damage it if I make the wrong choice first?

can try it without swapping them, if you find the unit looses its settings after being powered off and back on again, they need changed.

I will add that like most fiat's you'll need to turn the stereo off yourself. So far its only been the brava that turns the stereo off with the ignition, to which I rejoiced to :)

thanks dude i'll give it a go tomorrow. Hopefully it will switch off with the ignition like the original tape player does!

Cheers!

Just a tip, look up in your fiat audio handbook and cut out the 'can' wires as they can cause you problems with your electrics if connected to certain aftermarket headunits; they are not needed when using your aftermarket headunit; just to safeguard your self against the doggy fiat electrics, a lil tip fiat expert gave me (y)

Job's a goodun'

If i had read the instruction booklet first I would have seen the wiring diagrams and known that all i needed to do was put the yellow plug in the other red hole!!

All that worry for nothing! Sounds good already with a decent head unit. won't need to rush out for better speakers just yet!
