So, I’m test fitting things before starting the actual rebuild process and have discovered that the “Abarth” rocker cover hits the Weber imb28 when attempting to mount. I sanded away a little but it still is not enough. Thoughts?

You will be surprised as to how much you DO need to file away!---a Dremel comes in very handy in this situation. Seriously though, yes there is a fair bit of 'fettling' required to give clearance. Luckily, the 'pattern' rocker covers seem to have quite thick side-walls. Do it in small stages so that you only remove JUST enough to give you clearance
