Hi,
I know this is a daft question but where do I find my spare wheel please?

Had a bad puncture last night and left the car there in the dark, this morning I need to fix it but I dont know where my spare is, maybe I couldn't see it in the dark, so I am presuming it is underneath.

Thanks in advance. :)

Have you found it yet? You may find that the lowering mechanism in the boot doesn't work though... Good Luck!

Yes thank you, we found it underneath :) I couldnt see it last night as it was dark. After all that we just took the blown out tyre to get fixed and didn't bother with the spare.

I dont know what my lowering mechanism is though, where do I find that for future knowledge?

Thanks. x

It's in the boot, there is, I seem to remember, a plastic cap which you take off and insert a tool.... hmmm someone else will come along and answer you properly if you can't find it. Never had a working mechanism on either of my Multis so not had to use it, they've been angle grinded off and fixed to the underside with bolts (y)

Open the Tailgate, and look down at the left-hand side of the floor, near the seal.
There should be a round rubber bung/plug, approx 25mm in diameter.
Pop it out of it's hole, and you'll see a hex head inside.
You wind it anti-clockwise with the wheel-bolt socket.
99% of the mechanisms seize up, so don't be surprised if it doesn't work

Spare wheel issues 1

Spare wheel issues 2

One possible solution

There's space for a 'normal' wheel under there, so you don't have to stick with the poxy little space-saver (y)

I have a couple of wheels spare (for sale), if anyone needs one . . .

Normal wheel being a 15" or space saver skinny wheel.

No hope with Multipla's on OEM 17" wheels, as a 17" wheel and tyre will not fit.

Really?
I would have thought the outer diameter would be the same, due to the lower profile tyre used.
If not, how much do they affect the overall gearing?
