ll, i have a fiat ulysse 2.0 petrol 1996, this car has been a nightmare since i bought it 12 months ago, in january the car started to overheat and leak water from rad, i changed the rad , but still over heated , i was going to sell the car as spares or repairs. but decided to get the head gasket done after a friend of a friend worked in a garage and was prepared to do it for only £200 and change the water pump if it needed doing ,which i thought was a good price, especially after having got quotes of £350 upwards. the guy had the car 4 weeks and said everything was looking ok, yesterday he bought me the car back and said the engine block had gone!. but it was still driveable even though its overheating. and never charged me for supposingly doing the job. this morning i investigated and took off the water pump and inside the propellers were in pieces. i changed the water pump and got a new thermostat, which he cut out a hole in the thermostat so as to let more water through:devil:, and the car is still over heating so do i take it ive been had good and proper, and the guy just tried to bodge it:slayer:. how do you know if your engine block has gone?how easy is it to do a head gasket on a 2.0 petrol ulysse?
