I'm planning to buy this car for taxi use with GPL installed, i would like to know from previous owners about this car, i heard the engine burns a lot of oil i would like to know how much oil consumption from service to service and what oil you are using and do you recommend it

P.S: only 1.4 fire engines are sold where i live i read on the internet that the 1.6 engine doesn't burn oil

Hi, I have Tipo 1.4 t-jet which is basically a turbo-bolted 1.4 FIRE. The oil issue is due to small amount of oil in the engine~3litr, so it drops quickly and needs more checking. In my opinion higher oil consumption could be also caused by cracked cam/rocker cover gasket, so oil enters spark plug wells, slow penetrates through into combustion chamber and burns. I recommend inspecting all spark plugs wells, if any oil traces found, replace that gasket.
Noneless the 1.4 v16 FIRE is an old-school, die-hard engine, that by responsible servicing and use of factory recommend oil could lasts ages.

From my experience with the 1.4L T-Jet 120hp factory fitted LPG engine, I would say that there is no much oil consumption. The car is mainly driven in a urban environment and not revved hard. I would say that the oil consumption is not worse than average, at least concerning the specific driving conditions.
