"Italian cars are built with passion"

Which seems to be the excuse for crap build quality and reliability

I've had troubles with 2 of 3 fiats i've owned BUT to be fair to fiat most peoples issues are never 'huge problems' only small jobs.

Nevertheless still annoying niggles

The panda has been a success story for fiat from what I have read the car seems very reliable and the 1.3 multi jet with only £35 a year road tax has to be the steel of the century ..shame Clarkson wouldn't admit as much (y)

I have had several Rovers and know a lot of people in the Rover owning community. It is not only Fiats that break, Rovers have their share of silly problems, on balance much more than Fiats. What lets Fiat down is the shoddy service provided by some of the dealer agents. Rover dealers were just as bad. On balance my "unreliable" Fiats and rovers worked for 99.9% of the time. As for electrical niggles try driving a French car, the electrics in my Punto are 100 times better in mothers 206 and my mates 307.
