Technical Fiat scudo tail light problem

Hi

Ive got a problem with my fiat scudo, the tail light has stopped working on the drivers side. Ive changed the bulb and it still doesnt work. All the other lights work fine.

The earth pin on the connector is slightly burnt, but i thought if the earth wasnt good the other bulbs wouldn't be working.

Was going to take the passenger side light off and swap over to check but the earth pin is worse on that side, to the point its broken in the connector..

MOT due next week, need help.

How are the contacts on the light unit?

The GrandePunto had similar problems


Owners either cleaned what was left

Spliced in a new plug.. cutting off the old one..and soldering in

Some even wired a new cable from loom to bulb holder.. so eliminating the plug and socket

Options..

Plug looks ok but the pin on the light unit connector looked a bit burnt, cleaned it up the best i could. The rest of the bulbs on the light unit work its only the tail light that doesn't...

All fixed, found a broken cable about 20cm inside the rear pillar
