Technical Fiat Punto Mk1 and 185/65 R14 wheels

Hello,

winter comes and now my Punto Mk1 75 HSD 1.2 (1996) has summer wheels 165/65 R14. But I have winter wheels 185/65 R14. Are they suited for my car?

Aslong as all tyres are matched then yeah.

they're 20mm taller so will upset the handling and put alot of strain on the engine and gearbox

Taller? The aspect ratio for both wheels is 65, there 20MM wider not taller

185/65 the 65 is a percentage of the 185 so by making the tyre wider it will also become taller by 13mm (not 20mm my mistake but still a large increase)
185/60 would be a better choice as the difference is less than 4mm
