Technical fiat punto 60sx

hi all im new to this forum and was wondering if any 1 can help me i have had several problems with my punto since i got second hand in september 2004 ive replaced both radius arms the rear os wheel bearing and rear mounting i now have a problem with the car starting, the other morning i got some1 to jump start me and the car started now the car wont start at all yesterday when i looked at it it was sparking and i was getting fuel through but now the car isnt getting any fuel or any spark could it be something to do with the ecu the last thing i did to the car b4 i got this problem was change the exhaust downpipe. if any 1 could give me any advice that will be good and if it is the ecu can it be tested without being on the car thanks all. :bang:

Make sure the key code light isn't on, then check the fuse,s under the bonnet on the bulkhead under the black cover.

hi the key code light is not on and i can only see 1 fuse under the bulk head 15amp :bang:

ive been reading up in my manual and i think it could be the crankshaft tdc sensor but im not sure any ideas

after all that it was the tdc sensor /rpm sensor went to scrap yard got 1 put it on car and car started straight away so thanks for replies and i know where to ask for advice again thanks i know ill be back as it is 1 thing after another i just hope nothing goes wrong for a couple of months as im going to france speak to ya all again soon

just wanted to offer a bit of comfort! i bought a 2nd hand '99 60sx about 4 months ago, and after getting the crankshaft pulley & sensor replaced, plus HT leads, spark plugs, new exhaust, etc... it is now running like an absolute dream, much better than the day i drove it away.

the car cost me just under 2k, and had to spend about £450 on getting all the above work done, but (*touch wood*) it's treating me really well
and i did notice after all the above work, the fuel economy seems to have improved remarkably.

thanks we spent a week trying to solve the problem why the car wouldnt start and my partner changed the crankshaft sensor and it solved the problem and the car is running great fingers crossed

I bought mine for £400 private sale, with 12 months tax and mot,and had it 5 months been perfect ever since even if I have screwd the hell out of it, making it slide in corners lol

we paid 800 for r reg private only had few common probs with it at mo lol hopefully no more put neons on and dragon graphics and put some alloys on it today

Hi could anyone tell me how you got the crankshaft sensor off as I have 2 x 1.6 sporting puntos and need to get the sensor off to change them over. Been working on this most of the day now and it won't budge......any help much appreciated. :bang:
