l have Fiat multiply 1.9 diesel with 48,000 miles been garaged for 4 years, it starts first time but will not tick over have to increase revs to keep going when cold
It buzzes with Eng control fault consult garage when stalled
Has anyone had similar problems and have rectified this fault
Many thanks

Firstly - did you put fresh diesel in? The easy way to do that, just for a test fire up, is to remove the fuel filter canister and fill that with fresh diesel. Messy, but do-able. Better still, use neat Moly Diesel Purge instead of diesel. The engine will run quite happily (very happily, if fact :)) on neat Moly and it will also give the injectors a good clean and lube in the process.

Secondly - drain the fuel filter of condensation that may be trapped at the bottom of it. Depending on which filter type your car has, you may find there's a drain at the bottom of the filter. If you've removed the filter as above and emptied it out, this is all a bit of a moot point. Are you getting a funny-looking red warning light on the dash?

If that doesn't cure the problem, my next stop would be the camshaft sensor. Or get an ECUScan done.
