I have a 2009 Grand Punto and have an issue with the car shutting down when operating temp hits 90 degree. We have changed the timing belt and water pump on this car and snap on diagnostics can’t seem to point us in any direction. We changed the throttle body, coil pack and put an after market coolant temp probe on but the vehicle starts and Idles up to temp and as soon as it hits 90 the revs drop and engine stops. When we disconnect the temp probe the car runs all day but the fan also comes on. Plug the temp gauge back in and the engine stops. No fault codes but it appears to be temp related and getting a little bit exasperated. Could it be the after market temp probe? Is it ECU But no fault codes, any help or direction would be appreciated
