Technical Fiat Ducato 2.8 - Motorhome Gearbox oil

Hi guys,

What oil is everyone using in their gearbox for a Fiat Ducato 2.8 (2000) motorhome, I have been told its a mineral oil due to synthetic oils wearing the synchro coating. Just wanted to check what brand you are going for, I know to overfill this gearbox from 2L to 2.7L as revised for 5th gear lubrication but any other help will be appreciated

Use 75w/80 GL4 specification. GL5 has a higher level of additives, which are reputed to attack the bronze synchro rings. GL5 is better suited to hypoid differentials where there is sliding contsct beteen to crown wheel and pinion, and all steel components.
