I think the numbers you've quoted are the part numbers for a cylinder head and a cylinder block.

The 850 Coupe/Spider engine came in a few different capacities (817, 843, 903 cc.), whereas the 850 Saloon/Sedan and 850T were afaik all 843cc.
I suspect your engine may be from an 850 Coupe but would need to see more pics to determine this.

See if you can find the full engine number - iirc, it's stamped into the cyl. block just above the alloy timing cover and below the cyl. head gasket joint, so just above and to the left of the crankshaft pulley - it may be difficult to see if the rear engine mounting is still fitted (and probably covered in grime). Then compare your number with this page (scroll down to Engine numbers for Fiat gasoline engines) :-

It looks like early 843cc coupe from the 100gc. So I would guess 47hp. Look at the water pump bolts, if there's 3 then it's 843 if there's 4 then it's a 903.
Steel sump likely 843, alloy sump 903. This is all assuming that it's not a mix of parts put together over the last 50plus years to keep a car going

Looking at the rear engine mount it has an additional hole to the side of where the doughnut mounting fits for extra mounting bar used on the 850 saloon so I think it may be a 850 special engine as the inlet manifold and heat shield are still intact and is a 4 pin configuration for a twin choke weber cheers Darren

Maybe I get it now I've scrolled back a page. 100gc so it started as a 47hp then
Yes it was a but it was worth It so yes 47 bhp much higher RPM than my 35 bhp 900E engine which looks like its a stroked 850T engine obviously have 900E gearbox and diff ratios but see how it goes
