Hi Everyone, having just visited my local Abarth Dealer about my quest for a "Fiat 500 Fiasco" road trip, there advice was to use the forum.
Therefore.......
Later this year (Oct) i'm trekking up Kilimanjaro for Charity & raising money for Scope, the Disability Charity. As fundraiser event i have come up with the idea of a Road Trip for all 500 lovers. The trip will go from Central Herts to Stratford-upon-Avon, the Bard's own country. The aim is charge a tenner a car, which is "donated" via the user to my just giving website (details below), with a view to getting as many 500's in one place to at least have a cracking day out with fellow 500 lovers.

Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa’s highest mountain @ 5895 metres or just under 20,000ft, to those who remember feet and inches!!
So why am I doing it? – Well, I’m raising money for Scope Charity (Reg. No 208231), a charity for which I have a personal connection too; this Charity has a vision, whereby it is a vision of a world, where disabled people have the same opportunities to fulfil their life ambitions as non-disabled people. My brother has a seriously disabled daughter of 23 years. I am therefore giving a little of my time and money to help fulfil their dreams. To date I have raised £2200 towards my target of £5000, so a little way to go!
The Route – I and my fellow Trekkers will be taking the Machame Route.
So, where does the Machame Route go: beginning on the south-western side of the mountain, the trail passes through some of the mountain’s finest features, including the cloud forest of Kili’s southern slopes, the dry and dusty Shira Plateau and the delightful senecio-clad Barranco Campsite. To reach the actual summit we have a choice of two paths: most people head for the lengthy, long-winding climb up the Barafu trail, with the Rebmann Glacier edging into their field of vision on the left, as dawn breaks behind Mawenzi on the right. Alternatively, the more adventurous can go on the Western Breach Route, departing from the regular trail at Lava Tower on the western side of Kibo before heading up to chilly Arrow Glacier Campsite, then pressing on from there to the crater floor, gaining access to the crater at a point near the Furtwangler Glacier. Many people will spend a night here at the Crater Campsite, before pushing on up the crater’s southern rim to Uhuru Peak.
How can you help? Well as this is a Charity event, I need you to be extremely kind and generous and sponsor me please! Any donation, whether big or small will go a long way. Together, we can help those living with disabilities, who do not get the same chances to experience life as we know it.
