Yer its been hard to find any info of that conversion but ive now started ive got a lancia 2.0l DOHC motor out of a lancia beta coupe.Well the car that this is gettig done to is a 128 sl coupe and in order to use the lancia beta motor and front wheel drive box the chassis has to be moved because the motor and box is longer than the room in the engine bay between the chassis.

Hi the chassis has to be moved up out of the way ,this job has to be done to both sides fo even body twist. The chassis has to be remade by a sheet metal worker in 1.2mm sheet metal. The gear box now will sit with 120mm of hang in the wheel arch , so the the front has been pumped 2.5 inch on each side so overal 5 inch wider ,so the wheels at the moment i have 225/45/16 wheels on the car at the moment for wider track and the inner space on the wheel for some big brake rotors and calipers. Well look at these tell me what you think.
Happy fiating

Hi here are some more pics of the conversion of a 2.0l Lancia turbo in my fiat 128 sl coupe. These photos are of the new chassis rail on the left side, this one in photos is templete use only and will be remade once the rest of the templete's are made ,its the only way to realy see what it looks like in there. ENJOY.

i know its a quite old topic .. but (first welcome general .from egypt too)
second : i still want to know if you can put a 2.0l engine in the 128 without heavy cutting and welding or not ..
third :
general .. this is not a 2.8l engine .. (a 2.8l badge doesnt mean a 2.8l engine .. ) its a 1.6l engine out of a lancia , its ramy el yassergys car .. and was displayed on Egytuner with all the specs .. ( i was a member there .. )
here in egypt we have all kind of 128A and 136A engnes fitted (the ones off regatas/ritmo-strada/uno/tempra ... but none of them more than 1.6l in displacement ...
we still want to see a 2.0l 128

Hi long time since i have posted on this forum but her are some up dates on this project of mine. Well im now got both chassis done in the front. I have now got the regatta 5 speed gearbox with the linkages on bottom to fit on the lancia 2.0l engine. i think this is the one suited to this application and looks good in there. Notice in the the photo of the back of the motor showing the line up sharfts. see what you's think.
Happy F:slayer:iating.
