Not much of an update I'm afraid as Andrew could only spare us a couple of hours. The good news is she started immediately however whilst we were letting her run we noticed this puddle forming underneath

Don't think we got to the bottom of what that was as there were no ramps or axles stands present.

The clutch cable has been realigned and is now much better and there is other stuff but can't remember what now. Will update more later as we're heading back in a couple of hours with Stuarty as the mechanic

Christ, I hope not. Have to admit I may have reminded Martyn of the accident a wee bit more than was strictly necessary today and that probably isn't going to change when we reconvene later. In the mean time here is the scene of the crime

The puddle is water related, I assume coming from the water pump, hopefully just the seal and not signs of the pump about to **** itself..

Martyn got the back of the sills of yellow painted with hammerite as harper, aaron and myself stuffed ourselved with pizza.

I had a less fortunate trip.. attending tonight solely to check the brakes of my transporter trailer so that I could move cars if/when needed. Well I can report that there was no problem with the brakes.. as there was nothing in the drums!! No shoes, no mechanisms.... nothing. Goddamn gumtree thieves.

Wouldn't worry about the water pump tbh, it's probably the seal if it's leaking and there's no noise, which there shouldn't be considering there wasn't last time we had it running! mega easy fix

And its not running quite right, smelling really rich, running rough imo, although others recon its running fine, sounds like its idling really high but its maybe the way they are meant to be, I havent got a lot of experience fixing fiats.

ecu will need time to re-learn parameters. they tend to run very rich when doing that, my cinq pretty much tried to spit fuel clean out the exhaust when it was doing that. It's probably idling high because it's getting too much air too as there's no induction setup on it, so again, that won't help fueling as the map will pick that extra airflow up and probably be chucking even more fuel in to try and compensate!

It has the airfilter n stuff on it, as long as you regular repairers of these things are happy, I will just shut me trap haha

will maybe try and pop up for the next fixit for a look over it again If it's idling a bit high, check the throttle cable is releasing though sometimes the nipple on the end is a bit sticky.... gotta love a sticky nipple

Ooer mrs haha, was just going to start at the plugs and work the way back checking everything is ok, the throttle did seem ok when I pit it on ramps, handbrake is seized on a wee bit tho haha

usual cento thing, we freed it off... but it has been sitting again a long time since, even ones used regularly like to stick eventually. Tend to need serviced about once a year or so.

Take the blue plug on the back right hand side of the inlet mani off and see if it affects fuelling. When that sensor starts to die it seems to starts by saying "**** it" and chucking as much petrol in as it can before it gets majorly rough :laugh:

Can't remember if fuel pressure was changed at all, there's a wee drive on the throttle body that can be turned to alter fuel flow.

Basically.... there's loads of wee things it could be, but all easy and the main thing is the ecu needs to re-learn its parameters anyway, so until it's had a wee bit of running, i'd not look too hard for any issues unless they begin to worsen rather than improve

I was asked if I wanted to continue removing the stupid insulation foam from FiaSco or attack the rust on Yellow as I'd said I would earlier in the day.

I chose the 3rd choice

Can't guarantee there will be a sticky nipple in the shed but can recommend a few bars in ABZ you'll definitely find that sort of thing. Just don't ask me how I know...

Just a quick post to add to earlier comments about today's work. Got a wee bit done in between hospital visits etc. Thanks to Ransoman for a fair bit of help in a relatively short time.

Clutch cable re-routed and adjusted. Pedal sat abnormally high, so un-adjusted and the pedal sits level again. It's not great, but then the handbrake is still sticking on so once that's freed it may be a bit better?

Water leaking is a tad concerning but hopefully just a seal. It's not pouring out, just a regular drip. Topped up coolant for the time being.

Oil light flickers on and off. The Oil pressure cable??? seems to be running over the top of the engine. Not ideal, and we've got another kicking around so that's on the to do list. Re route and swap over, if need be.

Haven't cut wiring off of FiaSco for the sidelight yet, would have done that today but no crimps. Will do that next Saturday.

Also next Saturday I'll finish painting the underside of the car. Started with the hammerite tonight but ran out of time sadly so had to finish half way through.

On top of that we also made a fair bit of progress stripping parts off of Fiasco. Headlights and indicator lenses are off. I started stripping the bumper bolts but ended up snapping the head on one bolt and the other is already rounded. It'll be an interesting problem to solve We've also removed a helluva lot of expanding foam from the back of the car.

Again, it's all progress.

a quick heads up, due to my unavailability there won't be work done on either cars the weekend of the 28th/29th unless they are moved off-site. It would be nice to get as much done next Saturday as possible so who's all available to help?
