The FIAT Forum proudly presents the greatest getaway of the year (probably)
Disco Inferno @ Butlins Skegness
September 25th - 28th
This will be the 6th annual get together of the FF crew, keeping with its routes in dear old Skeggy - with one major difference.... this year (thanks to a fair and honest vote) we are holding it on an 18+ weekend, thus the entertainment will be slightly different.
But before we get onto that and for the people who don't know, just what is the FF weekender?
"Started up in 2004, the FF weekender is basically the opportunity for a gang of members to meet up all in one place and get to know each other properly, without the hassle of needing to look after your cars and wash them every 10 minutes as what seems to be the case at normal car shows.
By day, you have the delights of Butlins to look after you, be it a well deserved lie in or a trip to the sea (which is just over the small hill behind the place) - but by night is when things really kick off ... there are bars and clubs on sight, and with such a large group together, there is always fun to be had.
Couple that with chalet parties, naked fun runs (yes, really) and the knowledge that once you've partied to the max, it's only a short walk back to your chalet (or whoever's you met that evening ... ) - it's easy to see this is a great event!!"
Disco Inferno?
As said above, this year is slightly different in the fact we are holding on a theme weekend, which is of course Disco Inferno.... I could write all about that, but instead, here is a friendly link .... http://www.bigweekends.com/break-detail/Index.aspx?tcm=tcm:29-5943
Booking Info
The butlins complex is split between chalets and half board "rooms", however the normal concensus is to pair up with people and sort chalets out.
This in turn offers you a choice as there are various "levels" available, starting with standard (which is a bit ghetto), followed by silver (nice) and gold (where stu stays to impress his missus) - personally I say go for Silver - they are nicely laid out and offer plenty of room , which are priced as follows (this price is for the whole weekend!!)
6 Person Chalet £445 (4 single, 1 double)
If there is a couple, then obviously it would be an easy 6 way split = £74 each, or if only 5 (with the double used as the pulling room , hehe) then £89 each.
4 Person Chalet £356 (2 single, 1 double)
If there is a couple = £89 each, or if only 3 = £118 each.
Obviously the easiest way to book this is to arrange amoungst yourselves who goes with who and then contact Butlins directly ~ however this does have issues with people taking ages and ages go get done, so there is an alternative:
If you are sure you want to come, please add yourself to this event using the "Add Me" link at the top. In a few weeks time we can then start arranging who goes in which room with who and book the chalets (going for as many sixes as possible).
This way we can juggle numbers around if need be (rather than individuals trying to work out who goes where).
I'll keep a list going at the bottom who hasn't yet been allocated a room, so it will be faster to find room buddies to fill up any needed chalets, but basically we want to get booked up as fast as possible.
Phew, I think that's everything - any questions, hit them in below
Remember, if you are not a definite - don't put yourself on the "Add Me" list as this will confuse room bookings.
