Technical Few questions

Right. Total mechanical novice speaking. I have a quite strong whiff of fuel when my heater/cooler fan is on. Could it be air filter that's gone? Or something more sinister? Also steering is a bit creaky on low speed corners? Any ideas / info possible would be much appreciated.

Im also getting this smell, especially when i first turn on car in morning, ive replaced breather hose to the more up to date one, stroner, but still the same
