Hi there,

Trying to find out a problem my other half has started having on her 2004 Punto Active Sport..

Only recently has it started to act up when cold. The car will only accelerate a certain amount then suddenly after a few seconds give it all. The car will not stall, but doesnt idle stable.

Its totally fine once warmed up, which leads me to thinking its the choke?

Has this happened to anyone else on this forum? Is it a common fault, and how easy is it to change?

Thanks in advance.

These cars are electrnoic injection so dont have a choke so to speak.

There is an idle control valve on the throttle body this and the throttle body could simply need cleaning.

Or the cold start sensor could be the culprit being as it only has the problem from cold? This sensor is located in the thermostat housing (underneath the coils)
