Hi, I have a Grande Punto 1.2 8v 2007 and the check engine light has come on, the car drives fine but I am worried about the check engine light.
I have used a diagnostic tool and it has told me that P1680 - electrically actuated throttle (spring) is the cause.
My questions are 1- can I repair this myself 2- is it safe to drive ie will the throttle stick open or will the car break down.
I have seen posts picture of a broken spring on a different fiat, what are the issues with me taking the throttle body apart, will the ecu need to be reprogrammed when I plug it back in again?
If I reset the error it will clear until I turn the engine off and on restart it comes back again.
I an a newbie to this forum so I hope I have posted it in the correct place and I hope I have put enough information down for someone to help me. thanks
