FAO Tom (or any1 who can help) Re: Head Gasket

The head gasket + Radiator on my 96 Bravo have gone, garage quoted £650 all in.

I am now looking to repair myself with help or a friend (engineer) and am looking on advice on how hard it is to do.

Once repaired will be selling on as has caused me more problems than I can aford. If job is to hard/costly for DIY will sell for parts.

Please advise asap, Matt

What engine?
Why did it fail?

Its a 1.8 twin overhead cam. My radiator burst a leak (unknown to me obviously) then when getting out of town to work in slow traffic - heat built up until 3/4's got onto m/way - didnt go down carried rising + injector light flashed on so pulled straigh over. But too late - garage is dropping off today

Head off, get it skimmed as its overheated, new gasket, new cambelt if its more than a couple of years old and just follow the instructions in the haynes.
