FAO Tom,Nige or any1 mechanical!!!!!Help

Just serviced my car, changed the sparks the oil and filter and the fuel filter!!!

Shock horror, in cylinder three i have oil sitting with the spark plug!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I believe this to be oil rings? what else could it be? and is it costly? can i do any checks to confirm any thing?

It does burn much oil and both oil and water are clean ( i know this is to do with head gasket but i thought i would add it in )

Please help....Oh and its the 1.8, 97 P, 72,000 miles!!!

Any blue smoke from the exhaust? How much oil does it use?

No blue smoke not really any oil just the odd top up and they arent much... she runs sweet as a nut!!!

just alarmed to find oil there?

I had to do only two tiny top ups in 12000 miles so not alot of oil!!!

I dont know what it could be really?

Its seems to be a fact of life that fiat engines weep oil from the cam covers. My 1.6 does, my sisters uno does. Live with it, its not going to do any harm

Thats good news, the spark plug wasnt covered in oil just the nut part of it....

As long as you think it wont do any harm then thats fine....

Nah, I have to bail the oil out of mine every 6 months or so
