Got my car serviced this morning at the AA and it didn't go well

List of problems

0SR shoes worn down to the metal
OSR drum scored and lipped NSR lipped
Front brake pads on 2mm
Front brake discs below minimum thickness
middle of exhaust split and front exh gasket leaking
brake fluid below minumum boiling point - 118oc
No 2 plug lead requires replacement
no spare wheel on vehicle.

OK so the AA said to fix this would be nearly £800, my dad thinks this is excessive, is this right? Plug lead and gasket are quite cheap, no?

So, the brakes. Do you think it's worth changing the front discs and pads and rear drums and shoes all at once?

If so what would you recommend? All I want is to stop quicker, I am not bothered about dust on alloys etc.

Also what about the exhaust? I haven't had a look at it so I don't know where it is split, any ideas, cost?
Might have to go to powerflow.

Thanks in advance

Re: Re: FAO Tom (mainly) or anyone else

£800 seems extortionate to me!

Mate,
get the brakes from www.needforspeed.co.uk (follow links for Fiat Bravo).

that's a bit excessive. Do most of the work yourself if u can, and have an independent garage do the rest. Jeez, that's HT territory.
