Just tooka look at your photo's on your webpage,

Nice car, I was just wondering about the rear quarter armrest bits. The other day I was wondering how to fit some 6 1/2 subs that I have spare. There are just sat at my house gathering dust because I couldnt think of anywhere to fit them, until I saw your pictures. How did you get the rear quarter bit's like that? Was it a DIY job? If you could give me a brief explanation of what you did and any problems you came across, I'd be more than grateful! I plan on fitting the 6 1/2 subs in there to bring some mid bass to the car as the coaxials in the front have zero bass and th imaging from the coaxials and the sub (in the boot) is shocking.

Ta!

Didnt mean to exclude anybody....has anyone else done a similar thing or found a decent way of fitting bigger spaekers into their Cinq?

My mate found a good way, he just had some bookshelf speakers running off an amp and put them behind the front seats on their back facing upwards...I wouldnt admit it to him but for rear fill, they didnt sound too bad.

:) Cheers!

All I did was buy a roll of red vinyl (it's astonishingly cheap) and cut out some plywood covers to go over the armrest holes. Tape or glue the plywood on, then cut and fit the vinyl over the top of them. The original plastic panel is still there behind the red.

The space on the driver's side is limited a little due to the petrol filler, maybe remove the panel and have a looksee behind to figure out if it'll fit.

it'll be similar to the sei armrests
cento has already done his, and I have done one so far, doing the other today.
Plenty of room in the passenger side one for a huge sub, but the driver one a 6x9 is about the biggst thatll go in.

Ill pop up some pictures in the next couple of days. Cant until the rest of the jobs are done, or itll show off my project hehe.

cheers! I'm going to have a go at cutting the holes out and putting the 6 1/5 inch sub in. Already got 4" coaxials's in at the bottom and going to try to get the sub's fitted a bit higher up and try and get it to clear the fuel line etc...

Lets hope it works.

Might want to sound deaden the panel before fitting it all, with a speaker and a sub in there it might sound poo, sound deadening keeps all the outside noise out and the inside noise in.

It were proper Bo i tell thee!!

Already been there mate... Got about 4 rolls in various places already. I've got a roll under the false floor in the boot, another roll on the boot floor, a roll behind and on the plastic panels in the rear quarters (where my rear speakers are) and a roll behind the front dash speakers and around the speakers. I was a bit dubious when I first bought a roll to do the rear speaker bits because it was expensive for what it was but after I fitted it it sounded much more clear and all the rattles disapeared. My mate (who's a proper audiophile!!) said to me that there is no point in spending thousands of pounds on a sound system only for it to be totally let down by not spending another £200 and a weekend on sound deadening the car. He reckons it's like getting an upgrade on a system. I can see where he's coming from.

Im fitting new front components soon running from an amp and getting all new power cables etc.. and when I have to sort all the new wiring, Im stripping the carpets out and the seats etc.. to sound deaden the whole floor. Should make a difference.

trouble is though, its a right git to lay it spaces like in the rear armrests, and behin the dash. to do it properly you really gotta strip the car completely back to the shell.
I have got a roll in the car though, in the spare wheel bay, and under the rear seats.
