When i had the engine in bits, i took the lambda out so i could remove the exhaust bolts. It took a lot of force to do that, and its damaged the threads. I covered it in exhaust gasket and tightened it the best i could, but it broke free on the m'way. I stopped and reattached it with some exhaust putty (nice 2hour walk to get that!). I thought that'd hold it, but its begun blowing past it. The sensor is still in, but i can hear the exhaust blowing round the edges.

The second sensor gap, will the lambda fit in there? Are the threads the same? I'm thinking its going to be a lot easier to move the cap to the front sensor gap and seal that than it would be try and seal my lambda in where its meant to go! I can't take my sensor out and check, as to check it'd mean pulling all the putty off and i'd be carless if it didnt fit! :(

Could always drill hole for larger fitting, then tap it with a bigger thread, and plug that hole with a bolt.

Do the hole again, further up the pipe with the correct size for the Lambda sensor
