i saved £123.95 thanks to you guys!

i saw someone posted a scan of the FiatCare leaflet about fixed price servicing - it says 'Stilo Cam Belt Change £150'

i rang and booked my car in last week, the menu price? £273

luckily, the garage had a healthy stock of those leaflets, so when i came to pay i said
"I just found this which says it is £150"
"Oh one moment sir, let me adjust your bill"
I'm like 'Get in!!!!' :D
kudos to the receptionist at Fiat Piccadilly Knaresborough :worship:
Darren (manager) gave me several dirty looks for finding the leaflet, and apparently went home crying
in the end i was charged £149.05!

car is driving amazingly well now, they must have cleaned out the inlet control valve, because the engine is giving its power so much more smoothly, i'm so pleased i could keep my stilo forever!:slayer:

although i did sit in a new bravo at the garage and i thought it was remarkably well built - so i'm getting a bit tempted now

If they dont want to give discount they shouldnt post the leaflets ..I would have loved to have seen his face when you produced it :D

Thats very odd that the manager should get upset. When FIAT offer a promotion, they pay the dealer the discounted amount. Its the same with warranty work. They may not get the opportunity to add a bogus charge on, but they get paid for their work, whether its by you or FIAT themselves.

Maybe his wife had just bought a Ford ;)

Hi all dunno if my local dealer trying to pull a fast one but i called them today to book in for the cam belt change, told them about the leaflet and price, right sir will check it out and call you back.

which they did told me that that was just for the cam belt changing but they dont recomend that and fit whole kits including the idlier and that would be £215.

are they talking bull and trying to wiggle out of it or does this make sense to someone, its still a good price i think from a main dealer.

Fiat dealer here (Simonstone) quoted £285 plus VAT and that was with me supplying all the parts. Pick me up off the floor why don't you!

Local Fiat specialist did it for £90.

You'll want to change the aux drive belt and air con belt if you have air con. No need to change water pump as well on the 1.6 as it's outside the cambelt area and can be changed easily at any time

Yea that was included in the price also, so not bad then for a main dealer, is booked in for a week on monday.
