Hello everyone,

I have the, sometimes, dubious honour of looking after two Fiats;
Wifey's Grande 2009 1.4GP and Daughter's 2009 1.2 Lounge. Both have been owned from new and, because I am a tad OCD, still look like new.

The GP benefitted from a 5 year warranty when purchased which was never called upon!

The 500 has a grand total of 6k miles and has, until last week, always behaved impeccably.

Wifey had a Grande 2006 1.2 Dynamic before that and it only disgraced itself once in 3 years when the driver's door lock locked permanently!

So, contrary to the bad press that Fiats often get, I think they are pretty good.

However, Fiat dealerships? Don't get me started............

Compliments on the structure & feel of FF. I'm on M@zda forums and they are nowhere near as professional/welcoming.

Looking forward to broadening my knowledge and for any tips on keeping older cars pristine

Hi, and welcome to FF,

like MOST modern vehicles, servicing is the key,

FIAT engines are so well engineered, the basics are all that is generally required,

MAZDerati .. eh..

I'm afraid it was the advent of the "ford" CVH engine ( Mazda design) that drove me away..,

had 30 FIAT's since.. excellent vehicles.. and cheap too..!!,
