Just come back from a Eurovision party and I must say I was extremely disappointed this year. James Fox who represented the UK came 16th (ish) but his performance was very good and was a much better version of his song than I had heard previously. Much of the voting was as ever political and has been made even worse with the Baltic and Mediterranean lot entering this year. Tezza was his usual self, but had kind of run out of comments on the ludicrous voting, for example Serbias song was absolute dog poo but it came third! And Norway, who had a very catchy song, came last and only got points because Sweden did some political voting. I must say I was political with my voting ie. didn't vote for the french for being so mean to us recently even though it was quyite a good song.

The whole thing was won by the Ukraine with loads of cavepersons and a Catherine Zeta-Jones look-a-lik-ie dressed up in fur and leather running like madpersons aound the stage.

Did anyone else watch? :D

I watched it, apparently missed fight club on BBC2 so NOT impressed but a few of my thoughts:

Terry should be retired, he was annoying and made comments that made me think "Does he know he has his mic on?" Which I guess were funny but he still bored me!
I thought Cyprus was excellent (the 16 y/o on her own IIRC, although it might have been a different country) -winner IMO.
The good old poles managed to get some point despite having one of their trademark awful entries
I disliked the winner but hey, it was slightly different so that's not a bad thing
I thought the Irish song had an excellent change, quite catchy in some ways, awful night for them
I thought the UK song was good, not the best but good, I thought they had mucked up the sound at the start; the guitar was far too loud and made it sound rubbish but it got better.
Thought the voting was silly but hey, I am told it wouldn't be Eurovision without it (nor will i ever understand why we let Israel in?!

This is actually the only time I have really watched it as much as I did tonight and it all had a very caberet feel to it.

Well of course the Cyprus entry was good it was British :D. I agree I felt very sorry for the Irish the guy was good but then again it was just the same as our song and one or two other solo male ballads which were all a bit boring compared to the likes of Greece and Ukraine. As for the stripping thing I wish we had never started it with Bucks Fizz but then I suppose imitation is the sincerest form of flattery [8)].

lol @ the stripping.

Eurovision is so odd in what does well and what doesn't. I classed her as the best there tonight yet she came 6-7 and as she is liivng in the UK etc. studying GCSEs, I reckon she should have been singing for us! As you say, people seem to like different on it and the ballads (although good) were just too normal maybe. I thought the Irish man just had it over our guy but the voting didn't show that at all so maybe I am just wrong

I love it when they go to all of the countries during the voting and the "ambassedor person" says something which is so unfunny and they are dead proud for saying it, hehe, I suppose it is based on how humour varies so much.[:0]

I never actually watch it because I hate watching songs on TV, epecially crap ones!

The only part I like is the voting which is good for a laugh but only because of Wogan - I think he makes it it would be unwatchable without him!

Thanks to Sweden for giving us 3 comfort-points. That was actually all the points Norway got. Hahaha.

I tried morten, I really did like the Norwegian song and ended up voting for it - I think it was just too good for Eurovison viewers!

I missed the whole lot, thankfully!

If I do catch it, only ever watch the voting, and to hear Terrys comments - can't stand the songs, if that is what they are called.
