Just moved my car and found this underneath

Yes its part of a spring, must be from the rears as the fronts were changed 4 years ago

The car is still level so it must be a from the flat parts

Been down to my local garage, it goes in tomorrow for both springs changing

Feel like a fool

Just been under the car and all my springs are ok
The rears were changed in 2015 and the fronts in 2016, both sets still have paint on and are nowhere near what i found

Checked the rear exhaust mount, thats in place

Cant think of any other curved rod on the car?

Still going to take it to garage will have slightly weeping rear brake caliper done

Is it definatly from your car?
I find all sorts of random stuff under mine, it was some guttering last week!

It was on my drive under the car, approx 30ft from the road so i dont think it blew there. Maybe the local garage is trying to drum up business

Certainly does look like a coil spring. How mysterious.

I've had a couple go like this on my old Mazda. One came off in three pieces:confused:

At least the Panda's rear springs are dead easy to remove and treat for rust. I've just taken mine out for the second time this week in preparation for painting now the rust treatment has had time to do its work. With a breaker bar and drill socket attachment it's a 2min job. I followed varesecrazy's guide here

Thats what worried me, snapping in half, but they are fine, the old ones didnt break so they cant be them

Very strange

Well suprise suprise, there was a broken spring, on the flat part which i couldnt really see as my head wouldnt get in that far

The break was clean and didnt really break the paint

The bit i found wasnt from mine so ive still no idea where it came from

Spring changed, just need to do few miles just to settle it down
