my grande punto 1.2 (2007) has developed a ticking sound when starting cold.
the ticking increases with rpms, fades away around 2500 rpm, while cold it comes back when ideling until engine gets warm.
after about 5 minutes (when engine gets warm) it goes away.
i wonder what it most likely might be...
exhaust manifold leak ? (i can fix that i think, with new gaskets or new manifold if i can find one cheap)
valve timing issues ? (in that case im doomed, im not competent to fix it = noo expensive)
or is it in fact normal to do so for an old car ?
something else ?
