Technical Engine Management Light (Red)

I know very little about motor cars and am trying to sort a problem on my daughter's Fiat Brava. It is an "N" registered 1400cc petrol job and this light keeps coming on. The engine loses power, judders and stops or if I slow down for a junction it stops. I then try to restart and it sometimes works. It is rapidly becoming a major problem and the Fiat Garage is around 60 miles away. Can anyone throw any light on this one please.

possibly idle valve/sensor. i'm guessing it could be many things. see what some of the experts say when they come on 2nite.

i had the same problem if you check the post "Another injector light problem" you will see the problem i had. i had the light comming on as well and lost of power, i took it to a fiat dealer and they did a check on it and said one of my injector was faulty had it changed today and its all fine now.Beware dont let fiat fix it, they quoeted me £338 to fix it. £122.00 for the injector and the rest labour. bought the injecter from this place www.shop4parts.co.uk for £66.75 and had a side garage fit it for me today for £41 thats inculding vat. saving me over £200
