Rite i been thinking about this 4 a while now wheather its worth forking out £30 4 the Ecotek power boost stuff as my car is coming up on 74k which is pretty high. Any1 ever used it and noticed a difference?

FIAT CinqueCento = Recycled Ferrari :D

Have seen some user reviews of this stuff at

http://cars.potn.com/product_reviews.php/cPath/618_658/products_id/75765?PHPSESSID=ef4be3b3c356d28b7db0bae184c16e3f

Somewhat mixed i think you'll agree. Though it is admittedly a limited sample the one about the car not working is a bit worrying [:0]

I can't remember where I read it (somewhere on the net) but I read something saying that all fuel/oil/engine additives are b@*%&£ks and the only way to clean your engine is to get it apart.

Slow in... fast out!

Hi,

I used some of this stuff in my old Mini. It did'nt seem to shift much in the way of smoke out of the car but the settings were wildly out so it was much better after I had it adjusted.

My mates also used this on their Sciroccos with positive results. With Injection cars you need to spray it after the air mass meter (I think). That guy that kill his mums car probably did'nt do that.

Its a spray that turns to foam in combustion, nothing that harmful.

Personally I'd keep using small amounts of ReDex in the tank and maybe a couple of drops down each of the spark plug housings (not much unless you want a smoke screen!!!!).

HTH,

Damian;)

I dont know if it applies to this power boost stuff but...I've known people to use this sort of thing and it to have had an adverse effect. The problems that you face are caused because the little cracks and holes that are in your engine are blocked up by carbon deposits and when a cleaning agent is used, it unblocks all the little holes that have built up over the years and causes problems that werent actually a problem before!

I personally have always used Redex, on my mates reccomendation. My mate has always used it, he used to have an E reg Nova and it worked fine for him in that. Cant say that I have noticed any improvments as I have used it since day one.

Another related additive you could use is octane booster, doesnt clean anything but gives your engine better fuel to start with.
