orite my names chris. iv recently baught a seicento sporting on a "T" and its run great for a few days until i went over 1 of them stupid speed bumps, my last car was a 206 and was alot wider than the seicento and could hardly feel the bumps but i didnt realise this till i hit the speed bump lol. neway cut a long story short the car cut out straight away and now wont start again, iv checked all the obvious problems, spark plugs, fuel, belt etc and evrything seems 2 b ok but then again i aint no mechanic. iv pressed the fuel cut out switch under the dash and thers still nothing. is ther any1 who has had simaler problems or got ne advice as 2 wat the problem could be.
thanks chris

iv pressed the fuel cut out switch n its not made no diffrence. iv askd a friend of my dads bwt the lambda sensor n hes sayin it shud still start if it was that. iv just bin wandering if thers any posibility that the belt could of jumpd a tooth with the bang. thanks chris

iv just bin out now with a torch n giv the sensor a bit of wigle n it seems 2 be secure. il try again 2moz in daylight but im open 2 any moradvice u can giv me in the mean time lol. thanks very much for ur sugestions (y)

It is probably the most likely. Depending on the cycle the moon, it can either cause no spark and no fuel, or a misfire or cutting out that's very difficult to trace. It's vulnerable because the sensor itself is low down and because the cable is routed round the engine and a big jerk can stretch/dislodge the cable or connector.

The other things to check are all the earth leads within the engine bay.

Identical problem with our Siecento spot ever since we bought it

Followed advice on this forum Tightened loose engine block to earth cable connection on chassis.

Now its driving like a new car Need I say more

Other than thanks to the generous posters here.

still cant trace the problem iv checkd all the earth conections i can find and all r tight. the cranck senser looks 2 be ok is ther any way i can test this? thanks chris

orite sorry iv not replyd in a while, bin workin lol. seems iv found the problem. i found a piece of the plastic crank casing under the bottom pulley with lines across it wer its bin dragged under the timing belt lol. iv talleyd up all the markings but the car still doesnt start. any suggestions thanks chris
