hi to all just joined ff .just brought multipla 1.6 petrol would like to know the difference in the engine number codes 182a4000 and 182b6000 what is the difference in the engine.my multipla c/head gasket is u/s and just in case the head is beyond repair can i fit any i.6 fiat tc c/head or must it be one for the 182a4000 engine or worse comes to worse fit another engine can i fit a 182b6000 engine or is engine management different etc thanks for reading

think the 182b6000 is the stilo lump, pretty sure its the one with the inlet camshaft phase sensor and the stroke is slightly longer or something, i did look it up but i cant remember where.

the engine management is different for the two engines, it says so in the autodata books although i dont have one to hand.

think the headgasket sets are interchangeable, i got mine off ebay for about 35 quid but it wasnt great quality, card gaskets for the cams etc. youre best off just asking if its listed to fit both.

if its any use the 182a400 is in the marea, bravo and brava too. the engine code wil be stamped on the chassis under 'motore engine'.

might be a bit easier to find, i paid 70 quid for a complete lump out of a marea and stripped it just for the head.

Hi. I am a bit of a repair novice but am told I need to replace the engine on my Multipla. The car is in a garage in Cyprus but I am in the UK so can't see the engine. I am told I need the engine CODE to source an appropriate engine, but the garage have only given me this number 182B6-000 (which I think is the engine number, not the engine code??)

Can you tell me if I am getting confused over nothing and whether the only information I actually need is the 182B6-000? (I also have the Vin/Chassis No). Thanks.
