Technical Engine (amber) light on

HI can anyone help my engine management light has been on for the past 4 months (amber) had it on diagnostics and that comes back with nothing wrong the garage then tried to switch the light off but to no avail .car runs as normal fuel economy is still very good car has also sailed through mot . anybody any idea what could be wrong egr maybe
