Hi All
I have a 2004 Punto 1.4 Eleganza
The heater works but the fan blows at the lowest speed regardless of the fan setting (sometimes it works ok though)
As it has not stopped working entirely I suspect it is not the fan and having read through the posts it does not seem to be the resistor problem as the Eleganza does not have it. So I am a bit stumped.
Help would be appreciated as the garage has quoted nearly £400 for a new heater motor!!

400 for a new motor? tell them you can buy 4 new cars for that kind of dosh

The Eleganza doesn't have that kind of arrangement, it's all controlled by pushing buttons.

Although there isn't a resistor pack there will be some kind of speed control module and this may well have burnt out. I'd certainly be looking at that before I changed the whole fan.

We've had our Eleganza for nearly a year now and I've yet to spot another one on the road (easily recognised from the body coloured door handles) so there's not going to be much information around.

It's not uncommon for the PWM unit (used in place of the resistor) to burn out, just take your credit card when you go to the dealer because you will pretty much only get one from the dealer unless you're willing to trawl the internet and risk buying something from Poland, and they are very expensive

"400 for a new motor? tell them you can buy 4 new cars for that kind of dosh" Please give me the name of the main dealer, I'd love a new car for £100:D

Thank You for your suggestions. Looks like main dealer then!!
