Hi
I seem to keep having a repeat of this problem.
The Front left main beem keeps failing every few months. If we change the bulb it blows right away, so we get it checked for an electrical short and its resolved, but it keeps coming back every few months.
It has been a local garage that has been looking after the car the past few times it has happened but really would like a permanent solution for once.

Is it just this one bulb thats going or have any other bulbs on the car gone?

A bulb going often is usually a sign of a faulty alternator overcharging.

I dont see how a short could blow a bulb is all :) It could blow a fuse very quickly but wouldnt damage the bulb. ;)

I dont have a clue what could be doing it then im afriad, but i know a short couldnt do it, a short would either kill the bulb, or cause it to allways be on.

Sorry, help someone else knows what is causing it.

Nick.

I guess that is something what will be costly if it is the issue?
Incedently, being in scotland, only got a choice of arnold clark around here for dealers.

I don't think it's that expensive and I should clarify it's NOT the whole loom but just a mod that I think goes between alternator and lighting circuits :chin:

Hopefully you can find a dealer that knows about it.
