Anyone any experience
Just wondered if anyone knows much about the ELD light which is coming on and wont go off on starting up even pressing the button
Didnt notice this the other day when i drove the car back form the dealer in Londond and the hand books over at my mums 4 miles away with the car
She says it came on again today and pushing the button wont release it?

I noticed it last night putting the car away for her and had to drive on snow to release it assume it is the front to back diff lock and causing wind up on the TX as front and rear rotational speed changes on corners without the diff which is releaed on slippery surfaces or am i wrong and this lamp is something else? and can be left on

The ELD light should only come on briefly after starting the engine. If it stays on and will not cancel by pressing the button it suggests there is a fault somewhere.
However, the Panda Cross only has a "virtual" diff lock, ie. the action of a diff lock is simulated by application of the brakes on a spinning wheel. Therefore no transmission wind up will occur even if the diff lock is activated.

thanks for that, so you could run all the time with the light on without causing tyre wear or damage?
It was off when i drove it back on the snow from the garage a week on saturday and TBH never missed a beat on very steep snow and ice lanes so not sure why you would need it. i will pop over later and have a look but it certainly wouldnt release till i drove onto snow the other night when i went to put it away

To further reassure you that any damage is unlikely, the ELD deactivates at speeds above 50 kph.
However, a dealer does need to see the car if that light stays on constantly as something is not functioning correctly. I have looked at my handbook and have only become more confused as to what the fault might be!
